Monetizing LinkedIn for business involves leveraging the platform's various features and tools to promote your business and your products or services, establish you as a respected authority in your industry, and generate leads.
Remember your reaction when you last received a sales pitch in your inbox! There’s an unwritten rule of using LinkedIn to build, grow and even scale a business.
The unwritten rule is ‘You never sell on LinkedIn!’
Why?
Because it’s too early in the conversation!
Don’t be this guy!
Instead, you
Position your brand with your LinkedIn profile,
Your company page,
& your content that adds value and educates without selling.
Basically, you use LinkedIn as a tool to get the conversation started, as a tool to establish, build and nurture a professional relationship with your prospects, so when the time is right, you then take the conversation to the next level, which is away from LinkedIn.
Here are some steps to help you more effectively monetize LinkedIn for business:
Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile:
Create a compelling and professional LinkedIn profile for your business. Use high-quality images, a clear and concise description of your business, and relevant keywords to optimize your profile for search.
Premium Or Sales Navigator:
LinkedIn Premium gives you additional search functionality and access to everybody who has recently viewed your profile. Sales Navigator gives you all the features of Premium, plus more targeted access to the database that is LinkedIn.
Build a Strong Network:
Connect with relevant professionals, potential clients, industry leaders, and influencers in your niche. Engage with their content with Likes and meaningful comments, and sharing to build relationships and expand your network.
Share Content that Adds Value:
Create and share valuable and informative content that adds value and educates without selling with your target audience. This can include blog posts, articles, infographics, videos, industry insights and newsletters. Consistent posting will help establish your expertise and keep your audience engaged.
Utilize LinkedIn Pages and Groups:
Create a LinkedIn Company Page for your business and join relevant LinkedIn Groups. Share your content on your Company Page and participate in discussions within Groups to increase visibility and reach a larger audience.
Generate Leads with Lead Generation Forms:
Utilize LinkedIn's Lead Gen Forms via your company pages to capture leads. These forms auto-populate with LinkedIn profile data, making it easy for users to submit their information and for you to follow up with them.
Engage with Your Audience:
Actively engage with your audience by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. This helps build trust and credibility with potential clients and customers.
Showcase Your Products or Services:
Describe the benefits of what you offer via your LinkedIn profile services section and also set up Showcase Pages via your company page.
Participate in LinkedIn Events and Webinars:
Host or participate in LinkedIn events, webinars, or live streams to engage with your audience in real-time, share valuable insights, and promote the benefits and outcomes of your products or services.
Measure and Analyze Performance:
Regularly monitor your LinkedIn analytics to track the performance of your posts, and overall engagement. Use this data to refine your strategy, identify areas for improvement, and optimize your monetization efforts on the platform.
By following these steps and consistently engaging with your audience on LinkedIn, you can effectively monetize the platform for your business and drive meaningful results.
Here's to your continued LinkedIn for business success!
